Episode 5: Navigating Culture Shock Abroad

Lost, Surprised, and Laughing🌍

Moving abroad sounded exciting, but nobody warned me about the

unexpected surprises that would make me feel completely out of place 😅.

Like the first time I went out to a club. All the music was in Spanish,

I didn't know a single song, but I sang along anyway, pretending I knew the words. Somehow, I think everyone appreciated the effort!

Then there was my first tapas night. Plates kept arriving at the table,

and I had no idea what half of them were but everyone shared everything.

It felt so different from the way I was used to eating,

but I loved the energy and the sense of togetherness.

Some cultural differences really caught me off guard too.

People here can be really loud, and there are kids playing on the streets late at night, something I wasn't used to. At first, it felt chaotic, but now it's part of the charm.

At first, these moments were intimidating, but looking back, they are some of my favorite memories. Every awkward mistake taught me something new, made me braver, and helped me feel more at home in a place that once felt so strange 🌟.
